For this procedure, a special probe is attached to the tube during a Gastroscopy that allows for ultrasound pictures and biopsies to be taken of the pancreas. High-frequency waves produce clear images of the lining and walls of your digestive tract, chest, and nearby organs.

Endoscopic Ultrasounds allow for very detailed imaging and analysis of the pancreas in particular. This testing also allows us to obtain Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) for biopsy. This makes it an excellent evaluating tool for many different kinds of diseases occurring in the pancreas such as:

• Pancreatic Masses & Tumors
• Pancreatic Cysts
• Chronic Pancreatitis
• Autoimmune Pancreatitis
• Acute Pancreatitis
• Bile Duct Stones
• Stomach Masses and Nodules
• Esophageal Malignancy
